The Pittsburgh Steelers entered Sunday’s Week 4 clash looking to keep their unbeaten record.
Things didn’t work out in the Steelers’ favor, and they ended up suffering their first loss of the season. Pittsburgh entered the tilt, already dealing with a plethora of injuries that impacted the team in the matchup and came out of it with even more. Offensive lineman James Daniels suffered an Achilles injury and will miss the rest of the season. He isn’t the only one who suffered an injury.
Running back Cordarrelle Patterson also suffered an injury and left the contest against the Colts with an ankle injury, according to Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith.
“Two key players on the Steelers’ offense have been ruled out of (Sunday’s) game against the Colts,” Smith said. “Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson and guard James Daniels both exited with ankle injuries, and the Steelers have announced that neither will return. Patterson has been the Steelers’ leading rusher today with six carries for 43 yards, and he also has two catches for 19 yards. He makes plays with the ball in his hands, and now the Steelers will have to get by without him.”
Patterson got an increased workload with fellow running back Jaylen Warren out with an injury of his own. Hopefully, Patterson is okay and will be ready to go in the near future. Pittsburgh will return to the field in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys as the Steelers look to get back in the win column.
