The Pittsburgh Steelers already have one of the best defenses in football, but could it get even better in the not-so-distant future?
Week 4 action is here, and Pittsburgh will take the field on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts with a perfect 4-0 record on the line. The Steelers have a real chance to remain undefeated, and one of the biggest reasons why certainly has been the performance of the defense this season.
Pittsburgh has allowed just 8.67 points per game over its first three matchups. Despite this fact, even the Steelers could use a boost. Because of this, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox called the Steelers a possible fit for Arizona Cardinals star safety Budda Baker.
“The Arizona Cardinals are only 1-2 but have looked much more formidable than most expected,” Knox said. “If they can remain in the playoff hunt, they’re unlikely to actively shop star safety Budda Baker. However, the 28-year-old looms as a lucrative trade chip because A) he wanted a new contract last offseason before settling for a raise instead and B) he’s one of the most talented players at any position slated to reach the open market in 2025…
“Acquiring the six-time Pro Bowler might require also giving him a long-term extension, but there aren’t many defenses that wouldn’t benefit from his presence…Potential Suitors: Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers.”

Baker is just 28 years old and already is a six-time Pro Bowler and is well on his way to being one again this year. If the Steelers want to add to the secondary, he could be that guy in a possible trade.
