Steelers Lose Veteran Playmaker Ahead Of Week 4 Clash Vs. Colts

The Pittsburgh Steelers won’t be at full strength in Week 4 action as they look to stay unbeaten.

Pittsburgh has an impressive 3-0 record so far, and it will be put to the test against the Anthony Richardson-led Colts. Indianapolis enters the tilt sporting a 1-2 record. While this is the case, it will be a tough matchup for Pittsburgh, and it will be even more difficult now with running back Jaylen Warren expected to miss the clash, according to Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper.

“Reports this week indicated that the Steelers would be playing without running back Jaylen Warren and edge rusher Alex Highsmith this week, and confirmation came from the Steelers on Friday,” Alper said. “The team ruled both players out for their game against the Colts. Warren has a knee injury, and Highsmith has a groin injury.

“Najee Harris and Cordarrelle Patterson will be the backs for the Steelers in Warren’s absence. Nick Herbig had two sacks after Highsmith’s injury last week.”

Warren has appeared in all three games for the Steelers this season. Over that stretch, he has logged 54 rushing yards on 14 attempts. He also has caught five passes for 28 yards.

Pittsburgh will need everything it has to continue its red-hot streak to the season, and losing any offensive pieces certainly hurts. Losing Warren could be tough, but hopefully, the Steelers can keep the good times rolling. There’s a lot to like about the Steelers, but Warren’s knee injury will be something to monitor.
