The Pittsburgh Steelers have made things work well enough offensively to bring them to 3-0, but improvements can still be made in due time.
After facing questions all offseason about the quarterback situation, Justin Fields has filled in and stopped any conversation of that through three undefeated games. Now the major question mark on the offensive side of the football comes at the No. 2 wide receiver spot — at least according to a Steelers legend.
On the latest episode of his podcast “Footbahlin,” Ben Roethlisberger stated that Pittsburgh is still looking for a number two option in the passing game despite the recent showing of Calvin Austin III.
“I worry about receiver, like another guy,” Roethlisberger said. “Another playmaker.”
“Not Calvin (Austin), he made a great play today,” Roethlisberger continued, discussing a potential No. 2 option. “He can run, he’s not your two. I’m not sure Roman Wilson is your needle mover. I don’t think, I don’t know. We haven’t seen it yet. Is he a two for the NFL?”

Fellow ex-Steelers Pro Bowler Maurkice Pouncey agreed with him, saying that the team still needs a second wideout.
As reported throughout training camp and the preseason, Pittsburgh was close to adding Brandon Aiyuk from the San Francisco 49ers before he ultimately re-signed with the team.
The Steelers will take the field for Week 4 on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
