The Pittsburgh Penguins are seeing one of their all-time players finally retire at the end of his 37th professional season.
Jaromir Jagr spent 11 years with Pittsburgh, totaling 439 goals, 640 assists, and 1,079 points over 806 games with the organization. As a result of his elite play, he saw his No. 68 retired on Feb. 18 by the team. This is all to say that the Penguins’ legend has played a lot more hockey than just those 11 seasons, and he’s finally ready to hang up the skates.
As stated by Jagr’s agent and reported by Bleacher Report, Jagr is set to finish up his career with Kladno of the Czechia League, the team he owns. Jagr also referred to this upcoming season as his last on his latest Instagram post.
The Penguins legend ended his NHL career with 1,921, the second-most in National Hockey League history behind Wayne Gretzky. He scored 766 goals and dished out 1,155 assists in his 1,733 games with the Penguins, New York Rangers, Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, and Calgary Flames.
