Steelers Listed Among ‘Potential Suitors’ For Former First-Round Pick

Will Pittsburgh pull off a trade?

Will the Pittsburgh Steelers find a way to add another wide receiver to the offense?

Pittsburgh certainly attempted to do so over the last few months. The Steelers were among the most active teams in trade rumors as they attempted to land San Francisco 49ers star receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He had the finest season of his career in 2023 and wanted a massive contract extension. He ended up landing one with the 49ers rather than getting traded.

The Steelers still could be in the mix for a new receiver throughout the season. There certainly will be plenty of movement across the league and Tennessee Titans’ former first-round draft pick Treylon Burks was mentioned as a trade candidate by Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox. He linked Burks to the Steelers.

“In a trade-market context, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks is almost the polar opposite of (Amari Cooper),” Knox said. “The 2022 first-round pick has failed to become a consistent and reliable contributor for the team, and he could likely be had for a low, but reasonable, offer. While Cooper has consistently shown he can be a go-to target in the NFL, Burks may struggle to even see playing time in Tennessee. DeAndre Hopkins is dealing with a knee injury that bears watching, but he, Tyler Boyd and Calvin Ridley are set to be its starting trio…

“The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t have a proven No. 2 receiver behind George Pickens and should probably be linked to just about any wideout who becomes available…Potential Suitors: Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers.”

Burks has been mentioned as someone who could be moved on numerous occasions and it seems like his days in Tennessee may be numbered.
