Steelers Playmaker Expected To Return Just In Time For Week 1 Action

Pittsburgh got some good news on Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers likely won’t be without the services of one of their top playmakers to kick off the new season after all.

Pittsburgh recently got some rough news as third-year running back Jaylen Warren injured his hamstring. There was a point where it was unclear whether or not he would be able to suit up for the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Warren will be a major player for the Steelers in 2024 and luckily, the team is expected to have him in Week 1, according to Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper.

“Steelers running back Jaylen Warren has been dealing with a hamstring injury, but he’s moving in the right direction as the team heads into the first week of the regular season,” Alper said. “Video from the team’s practice on Monday shows Warren going through individual drills and having no trouble as he runs and cuts at full speed. Warren said, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com, that he also did special teams work and that he plans to add team drills to his workload on Wednesday. Warren also said that he expects to play against the Falcons on Sunday.”

Warren was fantastic for the Steelers last season. He had 784 rushing yards on just 149 attempts. He had four touchdowns on the ground, as well. On top of that, he had 61 receptions on 74 targets for 370 yards in the air.

He is entering his third season in the National Football League and is expected to play an even larger role this season. Luckily, he was able to avoid a serious injury despite the scare.
