Steelers Exciting Offensive Weapon Makes Positive Claim About Opener

Pittsburgh fans should be excited

The Pittsburgh Steelers should be good this season.

Pittsburgh won 10 games last season and has the means to be even better this season. There’s a lot to like about the team with the new season just a few weeks away now. The Steelers recently had a slight scare with running back Jaylen Warren suffering a hamstring injury, but it doesn’t sound like the injury will keep him out of the team’s upcoming season-opener on September 8th against the Atlanta Falcons.

Warren is expected to play a major role for the Steelers in 2024 and told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Chris Adamski that he is “fine” and should be ready to go in Week 1.

“Now a three-year NFL veteran, it was posited to Jaylen Warren that he might not necessarily need snaps in preseason games or training-camp practice reps to prep himself for the regular season,” Adamski said. “The “1-A” to “1” Najee Harris in the two-man running back committee the Steelers deploy, Warren did not play after early in the second quarter of Saturday’s preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills. He is expected to sit out Saturday’s preseason finale at the Detroit Lions.

“Warren, though, indicated that if it was the regular season, he would be playing. ‘It’s nothing major,’ Warren said of his injury. ‘I would play, but you have to be smart. I am fine. We are just looking at this point to the regular season.’ Asked flatly if there was any worry he would not be ready for the Sept. 8 opener at the Atlanta Falcons, Warren said, ‘No.'”

The fact that Warren could be ready to go Week 1 should be a welcomed sight to Steelers fans. Pittsburgh could be very good in 2024 and Warren’s availability certainly will play a role in that fact.
