Steelers Could Trade From This Position Group Before 2024 Campaign Begins

The Steelers could make a trade or two

The Pittsburgh Steelers certainly will be busy over the next few weeks.

There are just a few weeks to go until the 2024 National Football League season begins and there’s a lot to like about the Steelers. Pittsburgh won 10 games last year and should be better in 2024. The Steelers reloaded the roster and should compete for a playoff spot.

The next few weeks will be tough, though. Pittsburgh will have to look for ways to trim the roster down before Week 1. One area that the team could trade from is the defensive line, according to CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards.

“Pittsburgh’s defensive front is similarly loaded with veterans like Cameron Heyward, Larry Ogunjobi, Montravius Adams, and Dean Lowry. Second-year defensive tackle Keeanu Benton will be off-limits,” Edwards said. “Five players were named before arriving as DeMarvin Leal and Isaiahh Loudermilk, who are not difference-makers, could fulfill roles for other teams.”

Edwards compiled a list of areas teams could trade or cut from over the next few weeks and mentioned the Steelers’ defensive line. This isn’t too surprising because it seems like Pittsburgh has a surplus. While this is the case, it will be tough to make those decisions with the season right around the corner.
