Steelers Important Offensive Piece Uncertain For Week 1 Due To Tough Injury

Pittsburgh got some bad news

The Pittsburgh Steelers got some tough news about one of their most important offensive weapons.

Pittsburgh recently lost running back Jaylen Warren to a hamstring injury and there’s a chance that he could end up missing Week 1 according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero and NFL.com’s Grant Gordon.

“Following a breakout second season, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren’s status to open his third year is in doubt,” Gordon said. “Warren will be out multiple weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained Saturday and his status for the season opener is up in the air, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday.

“Warren left the Steelers’ Week 2 preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills with the injury. With Warren hobbled, this could potentially lead to a bigger workload for the team’s RB1 Najee Harris and/or bestow more opportunities to Cordarrelle Patterson.”

Warren had just under 800 rushing yards last season with four rushing touchdowns last season. He also logged 61 receptions for 370 receiving yards. If the Steelers were to lose him any significant amount of time it would be a real letdown for Pittsburgh.

The young running back is one of the Steelers’ most dynamic offensive weapons. Hopefully, he is able to get back on the field in the near future at full strength with the 2024 season quickly approaching. Pittsburgh has some high expectations heading into the 2024 campaign and Warren will be an important piece.
