The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired a wide receiver Wednesday.
It was not Brandon Aiyuk.
Pittsburgh announced the additions of wide receiver T.J. Luther and defensive back Zyon Gilbert on Wednesday, bringing in both just prior to the club’s final practice at St. Vincent College.
Luther was originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft and later signed with the New England Patriots, with whom he spent the majority of the season on the practice squad. He was released on June 6.
Gilbert originally signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft and spent time on their practice squad and active roster as a game-day elevation. He recorded 10 tackles and a sack in 2022. Gilbert later signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad in 2023.
