The Pittsburgh Penguins have added more offensive talent to their 2024-25 roster.
In their second trade of the day on Tuesday, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas announced that the Penguins acquired forward Cody Glass along with a 2025 third-round draft pick and a 2026 sixth-round draft pick from the Nashville Predators. Pittsburgh sent back 23-year-old forward Jordan Frasca to Nashville, who has totaled 11 games in the AHL over the last two seasons.
Glass was the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, being selected by the Vegas Golden Knights. The 25-year-old has played 187 games in his NHL career, totaling 29 goals, 42 assists, and 71 points while averaging 14:00 time on ice through those five seasons in the league.
His best NHL season was in the 2022-23 campaign, as he recorded 14 goals, 21 assists, and 35 points over 72 games while having a plus/minutes of plus-9 for the Predators.
The addition of Glass gives the Penguins even more offensive depth for the upcoming season. At the age of 25, the forward still has plenty to prove. If he can return to his 2022-23 form for the Penguins, this will go down as a strong deal for Dubas and company — especially with two draft picks also coming over in the deal.
