Could the Pittsburgh Steelers actually pull off a blockbuster trade this close to the 2024 season?
It really does sound like a real possibility.
Pittsburgh has been in rumors left and right lately as it has looked to add another playmaker to the offense. The Steelers already are in a good position and should be even better than they were last year. Pittsburgh won 10 games last season and is in even better shape now.
This is the case, but Pittsburgh still has been looking to add and has been linked to San Francisco 49ers star receiver Brandon Aiyuk. It seemed like he was going to be traded but it is up in the air now. If he were to be moved, though, it sounds like the Steelers are the only option outside of the 49ers, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“I’m told it’s pretty much down to the Steelers and 49ers, him staying in San Francisco, at this point,” Fowler said. “I was told around Thursday the 49ers intensified their efforts to try to re-sign him after some stagnant weeks where he was sitting around waiting to be traded, essentially.”

Aiyuk immediately would take the Steelers’ offense to another level. He was fantastic last year and had just under 1,400 receiving yards. Pairing him with George Pickens would be a nightmare for opposing secondaries. Hopefully the Steelers can get something done in the near future
