Steelers Re-Sign Linebacker Markus Golden To One-Year Contract

The linebacker spent 2023 with the team

The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding some help in the form of a 2023 contributor.

Pittsburgh announced on Thursday that they’ve re-signed linebacker Markus Golden to a one-year contract. The 33-year-old spent the 2023 season with the Steelers, playing in 16 regular season games and the team’s lone playoff contest.

Golden is a former second-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals and has been in the NFL since 2015. Over his nine-year career, the linebacker has recorded 51.0 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, one interception, and 343 tackles.

In his lone season with the Steelers last year, he finished with four sacks — good for third on the team behind teammates T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. He added 20 tackles including six that went for a loss. Golden also recorded one sack in the playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills during the playoffs.

Golden will give the Steelers a helpful boost in their linebacker room as he reports to training camp just in time before preseason action kicks off.
