The Pittsburgh Steelers already have significantly improved their offense this offseason but could there be another addition on the way?
Pittsburgh loaded up on the offensive side of the football by landing both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. The Steelers found a way to win 10 games last season and should be in a significantly better spot this year. While this is the case, some have wondered if another addition to the wide receiver room could be a possibility.
At this point, it’s unclear. But, training camp is about to kick off over the next few weeks and we should start to get a clearer picture. It’s too early to know if anything is in the works, but USA Today’s Cory Woodroof mentioned the Steelers as a possible option to land Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton in a hypothetical summer swap.
“If the Denver Broncos view this upcoming season as a must-win for Sean Payton and his coaching staff, it’s unlikely the team trades Sutton this summer,” Woodroof said. “If Denver has a more patient approach to what life may look like starting quarterback Bo Nix this season, the front office may be open to trading Sutton to get as much in return as possible while he’s still playing at a high level. While he might be a more likely candidate for the NFL trade deadline, we’ll include him on this list as someone we’re keeping an eye on as a possible candidate. He’d be a marquee name for any team that needs receiver help. For the Broncos, he could bring in a pretty nice draft pick. Possible teams: (Dallas Cowboys), Steelers, (New England Patriots).”
Sutton would be a great option for the Steelers. He already has played with Wilson before so that could help make the transition to Pittsburgh easier. Pairing him with George Pickens could form a scary duo for opposing defensive backs and help make Wilson’s job easier.

The 28-year-old was named a Pro Bowler in 2019 and could be a solid option for Pittsburgh. He had 772 receiving yards last year in 16 games — including 14 starts — and would give the Steelers’ offense another boost.
